We conduct traffic counts both manually or with the help of video cameras. In the context of video-based traffic surveys, we can provide up to 35 camera systems, which can be used continuously for up to one week. Longer recording periods are possible by interim replacement of the recording systems.
- The following traffic data / parameters can be captured using video cameras:
- Traffic counts for motorized vehicles at cross-sections or junctions.
- Pedestrian and bicycle traffic counts
- Classification by any types of vehicles
- Classification into desired time intervals
- Parking space analysis including the detection of illegal parking
- Counting passengers embarking / disembarking at public transportation stops
- Accident hotspot analysis for road safety studies
- Time gap detection
- Tailback and conflict observations
- Traffic disturbance analysis
Using a video camera system offers the following advantages.
- No obstruction or disruption of traffic flow
- Highly accurate and reproducible
- Accurately detecting vehicle classes (8 + 1 classification or custom classes can be defined)
- Plausibility check
- Weather disturbance independent
- Continuous recording possible for up to 48 hours
- Simultaneous recording of multiple junctions and detection of complex traffic situations with multiple cameras
- Minimal personnel resources required on-site
- Manual evaluation by trained personnel (no personnel on site)
