When the topic “parking” comes up for discussion, one often finds that a parking deficit is behind it. This lack of adequate parking supply challenges many cities and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Since it is not always possible to provide new parking spaces, concepts for parking lot management are increasingly playing an important role.
In order to use the planning tools effectively, information about the existing situation is needed (e.g. information on conflicts of interest among user groups “residents”, “customers,” and “commuters”). These are best obtained through license plate registration surveys and on-site user surveys.
In parking space related planning projects, we use for surveys our own license plate number registration App BPParkingSurvey and our own analysis and evaluation software tool BP PARKER.
