BrennerPlan GmbH was commissioned by the City of Vaihingen to conduct an investigation of the parking facilities at its main train station. A survey of the parking lots around the station, using license plate registration methods, was used to establish the overall utilization and parking time. In addition, a random interview of Park & Ride users was carried out to determine their origin – destination and trip purpose as well as the expected parking time. New scenarios for the expansion and optimization of the parking facility were developed and evaluated along with concepts of parking space management.

In addition, the demand for Bike&Ride parking spaces was evaluated. The scope for increasing the attractiveness of Bike&Ride and locating additional parking facilities were investigated as well as.
